For fast-acting relief, try slowing down.
~ Lily Tomlin
Worry and stress affects the circulation, the heart, the glands, the whole nervous system, and profoundly affects heart action.
~ Charles Mayo
A man who suffers or stresses before it is necessary, suffers more than is necessary.
~ Seneca
The mark of a successful man is one that has spent an entire day on the bank of a river without feeling guilty about it.
~ Unknown
Half our life is spent trying to find something to do with the time we have rushed through life trying to save.
~ Will Rogers
One of the symptoms of an approaching nervous breakdown is the belief that one’s work is terribly important.
~ Bertrand Russell (see also Rule 6 in this book!)
There must be quite a few things that a hot bath won’t cure, but I don’t know many of them.

BTW, I have a new site that I like: www.coolquotes.com.
Those are wonderful, particularly the one by Will Rogers. Here is one I like, less related to stress than fear, but still of value:
“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. Security does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than exposure.”
— Helen Keller
Life has a tendancy to do that to us :) Love the blog, but I certainly understand if other things are taking a higher precedence over it. Catch your breath!
I love the quote about spending a day on a riverbank…wow. And the one about the hot bath. I haven’t taken one in a long time (I shower! :-)
That one about one’s working being “terribly important”…that’s a good one to keep in mind too…
Thanks! And happy de-stressing!
Hi Phoenix, Chris, and Dave!
Priorities, shmriorities! Both should be possible, right?! RIGHT! :)
Phoenix, welcome, great to get your comment. Yes, courage is a major adventure on its own. As Churchill said, Courage is the most important of all the virtues because without it, none of the others are possible. Great Helen Keller quote. “Security does not exist in nature…” So enjoy, and play! (Play play play! as George Vaillant says).
Chris, thanks for the note. You sound like you had a similar thing when you were moving offices and a whole bunch of other changes happened at the same time! But, btw, I am back! :)
Dave, I really like that one too about taking yourself too seriously, and work being “terribly important.” There’s a fun book I recently skimmed: “Get Over Yourself.” Sometimes I say that to myself outloud!
Hi, you guys, and thanks for the comments! Best-o!
