What are your newest GOOD Constraints?

Hello, welcome to Question Friday!
What are some of your recent, newest GOOD Constraints?

* What are you doing that’s great for yourself?
* Are you keeping to an exercise schedule?
* Are you keeping to a sleep schedule? (The single most important thing to a healthy life, IMHO)
* Have you set a new rule for yourself recently?

Q: What are some of your recent, newest GOOD Constraints?

My answers are in the comments. Look forward to reading yours also!

Technorati keywords: habit, goals, new year’s resolutions, resolutions.

  1. I already exercise for 70 minutes M-F at 4:30am–so that’s great for myself and an exercise schedule. I read your article and it seems I’ve made it into an automatic behavior because I put no thought into it anymore. It’s just what I do and if I can’t for some reason (rare–usually surgery or injury) I feel anxious until I can get back on schedule.

I do have a sleep schedule but I don’t get as much as I’d like. I average between 6 and 6.5 hrs a night and I’d really like to to get 7+–but it just doesn’t seem possible.

My newest constraint? To stop using credit cards.

  2. Jen lady! That is absolutely super – the 70 min daily! Early morning exercise has been said to be linked to increased metabolism throughout the day and to increased productivity.

I know – same with me – when I get the sleep component right (as in going to bed early), everything else falls into place so well.

Love the GOOD Constraint on credit cards! Have you heard of the “put it in a ziplock bag full of water and throw it in the back of your freezer” trick? The idea is that even if you ever want to use the card, you can’t get to it at least for as long as it takes the ice to melt! Fun idea.
